Volunteers Needed for Door-Knocking in Ward A

Volunteer with Mayor Solomon to help connect residents with valuable property tax relief resources like Senior Freeze, ANCHOR, Stay NJ,
Join Mayor Solomon, City staff, and community volunteers for a Senior Freeze Door-Knocking Campaign in Ward A.
We’ll be going directly into the surrounding neighborhood to make residents, particularly seniors, aware of New Jersey property tax relief programs including Senior Freeze, ANCHOR, and Stay NJ and connect eligible residents with City staff who can provide application assistance.
What Volunteers Will Do
Volunteers will meet at Earl A Morgan Branch Library for a brief training and instructions before heading into the surrounding neighborhood in groups. Volunteers will primarily:
– Knock on doors and speak with residents about the outreach
– Share information about Senior Freeze, ANCHOR, and Stay NJ
– Help identify residents who may be interested in receiving assistance
– Connect residents with trained City staff for detailed eligibility or application questions
No previous canvassing experience is necessary. Volunteers will receive instructions before heading out and will not be expected to answer technical tax or eligibility questions or handle residents’ sensitive application information.
